Hi, I’m Allison — the heart and hands behind Trade Roots Cabinets and Design.
I’m a Dunedin-based mom, designer, and proud tradeswoman with a deep love for spaces that feel as good as they function. You could say craftsmanship runs in my blood — I grew up riding around in my dad’s work van, “John Walton's A-Area Wide Repair Service.” Watching him build and fix things for others made the trades feel like home to me from day one.
Now, I get to carry that legacy forward — honoring him with every design I create and every kitchen I help bring to life.
Trade Roots was born from the idea that spaces shape us — physically, emotionally, and energetically. As someone who’s walked through my own mental health journey, I believe in designing environments that support well-being. My work isn’t just about cabinetry — it’s about helping people feel rooted, supported, and more at ease in their homes. I also proudly donate a portion of my proceeds to suicide prevention and mental health awareness initiatives. It’s a mission that’s deeply personal, and one I’ll never compromise on.
Originally from Ohio, I carry a Midwest work ethic with me: strong, scrappy, and honest to the core. I’m equal parts work hard and laugh loud — with a wicked sense of humor and a soft spot for good people doing good things.
At home, you’ll find me with my daughter Astella, our sweet pup Boots, and a surprisingly snuggly cat named Nutmeg. I’m also forever grateful for my incredible mom and siblings — they’re my roots, and I wouldn’t be here without them.

If you're looking for cabinetry design that’s intentional, heartfelt, and built to fit your life — I’d be honored to connect.
With grit & gratitude,

Allison
